Trailing Thoughts, …

To dream a dream in darkness of night,

to follow its trail, a wisp of smoky white.

To fly over the Earth, look down, so small,

giving wonder, does anything matter, at all.

The dawn of time, ‘til the dawn of change

what matters is life,

in natural rearrange.

  1. Beautifully written, & I totally agree with you Penn, ‘what matters is life, in natural rearrange’ and maybe one day nature will rearrange her role and reassert her dominance. 🌹

  2. ‘The dawn of time, ‘til the dawn of change”…
    “what matters is life,
in natural rearrange”…. to align our thoughts to accept this and live our lives to believe this… would make for that magical moment.

    a beautiful poem, Penn🤍✨💙✨🙏

  3. Natural rearrange. The wonder of being a human being is we can dream of change and sometimes make it happen. One day perhaps we’ll live in communion with all life. There has not been in a single year in recorded history without conflict happening somewhere or the other. The masters of war gain, while humanity loses.

    • True TP, but natures been around for millions of years, …we’re a blot on the Horizon in comparison, …it’s just our careless planting of our size nines, … destroying the circle of life, delicate as it is, and making a total hash of things. wars, peace, wars again, there seems no end to man’s inhumanity to man. Natures cruel, but in a completely almost uncaring way. We can dream, hope and pray for life & man to find a better way….✨🙏✨

  4. Penn, your wonderful poem took me on a journey, “To dream a dream in darkness of night,” conjures up so much about the human condition. Your poem spoke to me of human frailty, nature’s frailty, time, beauty, life.

  5. If we humans were smart we’d realize that without Nature our lives are meaningless. Nature does not need us but we certainly need Nature, even if many of us do not realize it. Lovely sentiments well expressed, Penn!
